Welcome to the Northumberland Together website. It will keep you up to date with the county’s Sustainable Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement.
A Sustainable Community Strategy is a long term strategy to promote the environmental, social and economic well being of an area. Northumberland's Sustainable Community Strategy was adopted by the NSP Board in September 2007 - please see the bottom of the page for a copy of the final version. (You can find more general information on the LSP page of the Department of Communities and Local Government website.)
A Local Area Agreement is a short-term action plan for the Community Strategy (it is a contract between a local area and government setting out what targets we will achieve over the next 3 years). Northumberland recently agreed a 'new style' LAA containing revised targets (we expect Government Ministers to formally agree the document by the end of June) - please see the bottom of this page for a copy of that document. (You can find more general information on the LAA page Department of Communities and Local Government website.)
For information on the performance of the targets in the 'old style' LAA please go to the Performance Measures page.
