Northumberland Strategic Partnership Board now takes strategic responsibility for the management and delivery of the Northumberland’s Sustainable Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement. It has representatives from all the key organisations in the county, including the county and district councils. It is also supported by an officer-based Executive.
Both the NSP Board and NSP Executive recently added new members to make sure that all interests are fully covered. These new members will also create better links across the partnership. The partnership Sector Boards are also undergoing a review to widen their remit (and they also now have members on the NSP Executive).
Northumberland County Council is the accountable body for the LAA. It is responsible for monitoring performance and managing the central government grants that are paid through the LAA.
