Progress

On this page you can see how we are making progress, you can also find a copy of our first Interim Self Assessment.  You will be pleased to know that we are performing well and our assessment is "Green" for Overall Progress, and "Green" for Direction of Travel.

The LAA is monitored at various levels and in various ways:

  • Each measure has been assigned to a lead agent (such as the Care Trust or a District Council) and they will monitor progress as part of their normal performance management process.
  • Each measure has also been assigned to a Community Strategy 'theme' and progress will be monitored by the appropriate theme group or Sector Board.  These Sector Boards report to the NSP Board (as the governing body for the LAA).
  • Progress on delivery of the LAA as a whole is monitored by the NSP Board, and reported periodically to the County Council (as the accountable body for the LAA).
  • In addition, the Government Office for the North East independently review our progress every six months.

As well as this on-going monitoring the partnership will review the LAA annually as part of the 'LAA Refresh' process.  This allows central government to review its mandatory indicators, as well as the range of central government grants paid through the LAA process.  This allows us to reconsider our local measures.  The stretch targets cannot be altered as part of the refresh process as these will be used to determine the level of performance reward grant Northumberland receives.
